ABOUT THE CANDIDATE

A lifelong resident of Prentiss County, Steve Eaton is a graduate of Jumpertown School, a public school in Prentiss County. Following graduation, he attended Northeast Mississippi Community College to work toward a trade certificate, and he took courses at Itawamba Community College for additional certifications. He has 25 years of experience in local government as tax assessor/collector.

Eaton is a public school champion, advocating for raising teacher pay and ending unnecessary standardized testing. During his years of public service, he has volunteered as an auctioneer for more than 1,000 benefits in Mississippi, including Relay For Life and fundraisers for community members experiencing hardships. He is married to Amy Eaton, who is also a public school graduate.
