ABOUT THE CANDIDATE

A native of Greenville, Mississippi, Representative John Hines is a product of Greenville Public Schools and received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Mississippi Valley State University. He is a small-business owner with a background in business development, human resources, community development and insurance.

Hines has been a member of the Mississippi House of Representatives since 2001 and has served on the following legislative committees: Banking and Finance, Gaming, Insurance, Management, Public Utilities, and Revenue and Expenditure General Bills.

A member of the advisory board for HOPE Credit Union, Hines is also involved with several civic and community organizations including 100 Black Men of the Mississippi Delta, Beta Rho Foundation and Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc.
