House District 35: William "Billy" Tabb

“Public education is important and should be important to everyone! We have to invest in our kids and teachers to ensure that Mississippi has a bright future.”

A lifelong resident of Webster County and a graduate of Eupora High School, William “Billy” Tabb became a certified firefighter at the Mississippi State Fire Academy in 2010 and an Emergency Medical Technician at East Central Community College in 2011.

A farmer and a local businessman, Tabb has actively managed and grown his farming operation in the Webster, Choctaw, Oktibbeha and Clay county areas since 2003. Prior to farming fulltime, he worked at the Starkville Fire Department for five years as a firefighter and first responder.

Tabb is passionate about serving and growing his community and the surrounding area, and both he and his wife are avid advocates for agriculture and teachers. He is a member, deacon and Sunday school teacher at Walthall Baptist Church, and he is a member of Eupora Elementary PTO, Webster County Cattlemen’s Association, Webster County Farm Bureau Board of Directors, the Mississippi Peanut Growers Association and the Mississippi Peanut Promotion Board, where he currently serves as vice chairman. He is also actively involved in the Webster County Catch-a-Dream program and recently served a two-year term on the Mississippi Farm Bureau Federation Young Farmers & Ranchers Committee, serving as committee chairman.

Tabb has been recognized for several farming awards, including the Mississippi Farm Bureau Young Farmers & Ranchers Achievement Award, the American Farm Bureau Federation Achievement Award and Outstanding Farmers of America’s Top 10 National Outstanding Young

He is married to Cala Hendrix Tabb, a native of Vardaman, who is the librarian at Eupora Elementary and Eupora High School. The couple has four children, Brady, Grant, Adalee and Gibson, who all attend Eupora public schools.
